Prior Mid-Century Modern Sales
The photos below represent a few of the mid-century modern homes we have either bought or sold.
423 Isolde
This is one of the best mid-century modern homes in Memorial Bend. This unique, open plan contemporary was designed and built by architect William Floyd in 1959. Floyd constructed about 50 of the homes in Memorial Bend, so it had a larger number of mid-century modern homes than most subdivisions.
The living/dining area with hardwoods was divided by a wood-burning fireplace. The family room, kitchen and 2 bedrooms look out on a patio and pool, in an oversized lot. Memorial Bend is a neighborhood now in a period of flux as many of these architectually significant homes are torn down and replaced by larger 2 story homes.
The ‘Bend’ is across from City Centre and Town and Country shopping and restaurants, walking distance to Terry Hershey and the Audubon Nature Sanctuary Parks, and in the sought after SBISD Rummel Creek/Memorial Middle School/Memorial High school district.
9325 Lugary
This is a spacious mid-century modern home built in 1966 in Bonham Acres, near Brays Bayou and Braeburn Country Club.
The home was designed with an open floor plan, featuring walls of windows opening to the back yard and overlooking a covered 19′ x 10′ patio. The house has Terrazzo, Marble and hardwood floors throughout, and kitchen and baths updated with designer finishes. For a home built 50 years ago, it has larger than normal walk-in closets, and plenty of additional storage.
The living room features a huge wall-to-wall fireplace and high vaulted ceiling. Beyond the covered patio is a 3 car garage, and the property is fenced with an electric auto driveway gate, with a beautiful wooded and landscaped lot with privacy from any neighbors. And lt’s only minutes to the Braeswood hike/bike trails.
10703 Burgoyne
This impeccable mid-century modern home, built in 1964 in Walnut Bend, was renovated from top to bottom. Finishes throughout the home are classic, modern, and in keeping with mid-century modern traditions.
Floor to ceiling windows, hardwoods, cork flooring, marble, subway tile, farmhouse sink, vintage/custom lighting. Completely remodeled kitchen and baths. New roof, double-paned windows and plumbing.
THis is a large lot with huge trees, and the patio with pergola outside the living area make it a backyard oasis.
