Every day, we become aware of Mid-Century Modern homes in Houston whose owners are preparing them for sale, but they aren’t listed yet. These homes are classic examples of their architecture’s clean, minimalist aesthetic and focus on functionality. We created this website to offer lovers of their architecture an early look at these special homes. We hope you’ll enjoy your first look.

Because we specialize in mid-century modern homes, we have amassed a great deal of historic information on mid-century homes in Houston, the architects who designed those homes, even mid-century magazine advertisements. We’ll be adding a great deal of information to this site for those of you who are interested.

The first home we featured on this site was sold the day it was listed, which got us thinking. We can use this site for whatever we, and you want it to be, which brings me to the photo featured below. It’s not a Mid-Century Modern home; it’s a style developed in Texas, California and the Southwest tied to their Spanish heritage. The architecture is actually Mission Revival style, which you can tell by the series of curved arches spanning the entire open front porch. And it is a mid-century home, in which the owners made extensive improvements and basically remodeled the entire home with modern upgrades from flooring to vaulted ceilings, from fixtures and finishes to… well, you can see for yourself.
